For those of you who have been out of touch with our fast pitch league, there’s this new flamethrower named Ryan Bush and this kid can chuck!
Freaky Franchise’s Ace broke onto the scene late last June, besting the likes of the Crusaders and the Razrs, out dueling all pro pitcher James Stein and 2013 MVP Kevin Norris. Bush and the Franchise had a touch 6-11 year in 2013, but as a 2nd year team it looks as if their bats are starting to catch up to his arm.
May 10th will be a big test for Bush, as the dense level of talent in the Mass region will be sure to push his right wing to the test. Freaky will duel the Crusaders for the 4th and 5th times, and this will be Bush’s third shot at the purple punishers. “Bush is just one of those guys who you look at and say ‘yeah, he’s ready’”, remarked Crusaders owner James Stein “That’s why DOOM recruited him for the OPEN last year. There aren’t too many guys who can just come into the leave and dominate at that level.”
It appears that Bush not only throws smoke, but he can also throw it all day long. Bush threw 39 innings over the course of 11 games during the regular season – yet the Franchise only attended 3 events. He also struck out 97 along the way, just one K short of the “K King” title. Not bad for a rookie. Despite a rough outing against The U in the season opener, Bush will have his chance for redemption this weekend.
